The Place to Buy Food & Wines From Spain
It all started with a little store on Northern Boulevard (Queens) as a showroom for our manufacturing and wholesale business. We then took the leap to focus on the retail sector and opened our flagship stores in SoHo NYC to reach our clients: a Fine Foods and Tapas Café set alongside a sister store right next door with one of the largest samples of Spanish wines and spirits in NYC. Next in 2013 a Marketplace and Restaurant in Princeton, New Jersey was established. Each one is a different space and feel but all of them share the same spirit and mission: to spread the gastronomic bounty of foods from Spain and make it accessible to everyone.
We love to talk to our clients, listen to the trips they have made to Spain and what delicious dishes they have tasted. Sharing thoughts about food and recipes and helping them to choose products to cook a special dinner at home or just suggesting new pintxos and tapas to taste in store is our specialty and what we enjoy the most. These small details encourage us to keep up going. Visit the nearest store and discover new amazing choices.

Despaña Fine Foods and Tapas Café
A great spot to buy and enjoy a bite
In the trendsetting neighborhood of Soho you will find this one of a kind grocery boutique and café that has a mix of old world European charm and a modern feel of Spain in NY. Think of thin slices of hand carved jamon Iberico, bountiful free sample tastings of specialty meats and imported cheese, and many other wonderful bites.
Despaña Vinos y Más
The magical wine cellar in Soho
How many Spanish wines can you find in a liquor store that is as tiny as 190 square feet? Amazingly from top to bottom, close to 600 different selections!! We are proud to have curated one of the most interesting and complete, if not biggest offerings of Spanish wines and spirits available anywhere in NY.
The place where our story started
Our story begins at 86-17 Northern Blvd in the historic district of Jackson Heights, Queens. As the most diverse borough in NY, it is easy to understand that in the early 70’s this is where a family of immigrants from Asturias, Spain, would decide to establish a store location dedicated to all things Spanish.
A piece of Spain right in New Jersey
Despaña Princeton was opened in 2013 as our first joint venture outside of New York. This beautiful downtown location is on the corner of Nassau and Olden and has an open space feel that includes a market on the first floor to allow for a grocery shopping experience by day and by night a “BYOB” restaurant.
