Castillo de Canena- Unfiltered Monovarietal: Unfiltered Picual This family has been producing exceptional extra virgin olive oil since 1780. Their property is located in the foothills of the Sierra Magina Mountains. The mil is located within their castle (yes, castle) that overlooks the town of Canena in the province of Jaen. Hence the name of their unfiltered olive oil beauties "Castillo de Canena". They only produce two monovarietals both of which are unfiltered: Arbequina and Picual. We will be featuring a very limited production of numbered bottles of first cold pressed olive juice from the first day of picking. Ask us about it if you don't see it on our website yet. TASTING NOTES: Full bodied fresh fruity aroma with a flavor reminiscent of ripe tomatoes. There is a delicate peppery piquant note in the finish that is very pleasing to the taste.
