This blue cheese has been made for generations by Doña Helena's family. This beautiful pristine factory in La Peral rests on top of a privileged area overlooking the Cantabrian Sea. They are the only ones who produce this artisanal cheese made from pasteurized cow's milk and aged for 3 months.

We like to call it the Princess of blue cheese from Asturias. It has a refined likeable flavor that can't be turned down even by those that claim not to like blue cheese. La Peral was the cheese slected to be served as an appetizer at the royal wedding of Los Principes de Asturias.

Origin: Asturias

Tasting Notes: This wonderful blue is very smooth and creamy not overly aggressive on the palate but rather flavorful with a mild balance of saltiness combined with the blue penicilium mold. An excellent balance on the palate. Wonderful cheese to be enjoyed with sweet flavors. Sweet Jerez or dulce de membrillo are some suggestions.
